Courier / Contact Tracing Support
The Bureau, Marshall, Putnam County Health Departments, is hiring a Courier / Contact Tracing Support to work for our Contact Tracing Grant to support Illinois Public Health's efforts in performing COVID-19 contact tracing.
Position Summary
BMPCHD is organizing teams of community contact tracing staff across our Tri-County, as a key strategy for preventing further spread of COVID-19.
The Courier will support our Health Department and contract tracing staff by providing courier services essential to preventing the spread of COVID-19 within our Tri-County area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for transferring COVID-19 tests to designated locations for processing. Responsible for picking up documents and supplies needed for all health department and contact tracing staff. Making deliveries of PPE and other essential supplies to quarantine individuals who don't have anyone to support them. Run errands for health department and contact tracing staff as needed. Assist contract tracing staff as needed. Assist health department staff in setting up and taking down drive thru and mobile testing sites. Communicate with contacts in a professional and empathetic manner. Maintain a record of all deliveries and travel locations for auditing purposes. Maintain contact with supervisor. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds. Conduct other related duties as assigned. High school diploma or GED. Excellent driving record. Must have reliable transportation and Insurance. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress. Ability to communicate verbally in a professional and empathetic manner. Good work ethic. Excellent organizational skills. Good critical thinking skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Familiarity with our Tri-County geography.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in performing courier services a plus. Fluency in a second or in multiple languages a plus (specifically Spanish). Please indicate languages spoken in your application and/or cover letter. Prior experience in customer service. Preference will be given to residents of Bureau, Marshall, and Putnam County.
Important Information
This is a full-time, temporary (35 hours per week) position. This is a mobile position working in Bureau, Marshall, and Putnam County. The pay rate for this position is $13.00 to $14.00 per hour.
