The Village of Manhattan, Illinois is accepting online applications for the position of police officer with the Manhattan Police Department.
Starting Salary: $59,618

Candidates who achieve a passing score on the written examination are eligible to claim preference points. Preference points are offered in the following categories:
Military Experience (5 points): Must have at least one year of active duty and honorable discharge from service (or currently serve on inactive or reserve duty). Copy of DD-214 (long form, including character of discharge) required as proof;
Education (5 points): Must have completed at least 60 semester hours at an accredited college or university. Copy of official college transcripts required as proof;
Illinois Law Enforcement Certification (5 points): Must have successfully completed the minimum standards and received certification from the Illinois Local Governmental Law Enforcement Officers Training and Standards Board, as provided in the Illinois Police Training Act and are currently serving as a part-time or full-time law enforcement officer in the state of Illinois. Copy of Illinois Law Enforcement certification required as proof (full-time or part- time certification accepted).
