Assistant Director of Digital Shipbuilding (FP602A)
Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC) at Old Dominion University is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Digital Shipbuilding (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will be responsible for organizing programs and activities for our organization working in concert with the Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center (VMASC) Associate Director of DSB Enterprise. The incumbent will be tasked with developing programs to support the organization’s strategic direction, as well as creating and managing short- and long-term goals. This position will also oversee developing budgets and operating plans for programs and writing program funding proposals.
Required Education: Master’s degree in operations, management or another related field. Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in operations, management, or another related field. Comprehensive experience in program management and team management. Considerable experience in managing a team to include a multidisciplinary team. Considerable experience using computing for a variety of tasks. Comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding, ship repair, maritime, military and/or government operations. Considerable knowledge of the generally accepted policies, practices, procedures and principles of project, program, and operations management. Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures. Strong skill in Microsoft applications including: Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems.
Conditions of Employment: Must possess a security clearance to be considered for the position and maintain for the duration of employment in this position.
