Apprenticeship Application
Registration fee: $25.00 non-refundable (no cash or personal checks will be accepted)
Methods of payment:
1.Money Order or Cashier's Check payable to Technical Engineers Education Fund, Local 130 UA
*Optional: If you wish to purchase the Test Taking Tip Book for $10, your total will be $35.00 in the form of a money order or cashier's check of $35.00
Requirements: You must apply in person and you must bring the following items:
Paper Applications will be available at registration sites, Your valid driver's license, Your Birth Certificate or valid U.S. Passport, Proof of Completion of High School:
- Original High School Diploma OR
- G.E.D. Certificate OR
- Sealed Official High School Transcripts OR
- College Diploma with Transcripts OR
- Copy of Veteran DD214 $25.00 non-refundable application fee
Qualifications:
- Must read, write, and speak the English language
- Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Pass an aptitude test
- Pass a drug screen including marijuana
- Pass a physical exam
- Pass an agility test
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- (Applicants who are 17 years of age may apply provided he or she will be 18 years of age prior to being registered by the JAC)
There are absolutely no exceptions to the requirements and qualifications listed above.
Applicants submitting the required documents at the time of registration will be given all the information about where and when to appear for the aptitude test. Drug screen, physical and physical agility test information will be provided if invited to a pre-orientation meeting.
At the time of indenture, you must:
- Have a valid Driver's license -Have a reliable form of transportation
- Pass a drug test
Journeyman Apprenticeship Educational and On-the-job Training
All applicants who are successfully selected, are required to complete their educational training at the JAC located at: 1400 W Washington Blvd, Chicago, IL, 60607
On-The-Job Training locations will be dictated by contractor requirements.
You must be able to drive yourself between illinois and indiana for education, training and employment.
