The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking dynamic professionals to join a partnership between public university social work programs and the Office of Workforce Research and Development (WRD).
The Associate Director of Grant Accountability will provide leadership to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) Grant Accountability Team by directing activities regarding the adherence and compliance to the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act. Reviews, analyzes and implements rules, policies and procedures specific to the agency with an emphasis on grant accountability infrastructure and compliance with federal and state requirements, regulations, statutes, guidance, laws and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for assigning, reviewing and directing activities of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) Grant Accountability Team. Responsible for organizing, planning and developing rules, policies and procedures specific to the agency with an emphasis on grant accountability infrastructure and compliance with federal and state requirements, regulations, statutes, guidance, laws and regulatory compliance. Supports, designs and implements efficient and effective tools, training and internal controls for the Grant Accountability Unit.
- As relates to the implementation of AmpliFund, establish, create, and support the full implementation of a new grant management system. This includes the Pre-award and Post-award phases. This will include participation in planning calls (post-award and future elements, supporting the training (POS and DCFS) and a website update to ensure providers are able to use the new system.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal and external parties to independently review and evaluate agency-wide grant program infrastructure and conduct training on grant infrastructure processes for agency staff and grantees. Evaluate agency written procedures for all grant processes to ensure they are current and assist with tracking compliance with established grant policies and procedures. This includes annual updates to the grant website.
- Identify and develop training for grant and grantee staff, based on grant infrastructure process and changes. Conducts trainings, workshops and seminars related to grant processing procedures for programmatic and fiscal integrity. This includes development of annual training information and attending other grant related trainings.
- Supervise a program assistant and conduct regular one-on-one supervision meetings and yearly performance reviews.
- Assist contract and grant providers with navigating the Grant Accountability Information System and making required adjustment to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of the Grant Accountability Information System with required IDCFS information.
- Review and track corrective action plans and stop pay notifications and design relative processes and procedures for efficient and effective internal controls including but not limited to corrective action plans resulting from findings from financial, compliance single and programmatic audits and reviews of IDCFS.
- Travel as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration. A Master’s Degree in Business or Public Administration preferred. Three (3) years of experience in a related field.
This is a full-time (100%), twelve month non-tenure track academic professional position located in Chicago. The position is grant-funded and renewal is contingent upon availability of funds. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The proposed start date is as soon as possible after the closing date.
