University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking dynamic professionals to join a partnership between public university social work programs and the Office of Child Welfare Partnerships and Workforce Development (CWPWD) an Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS) funded program.
The Program Service Aide reports to the PRIDE Central Regional Training Manager and is responsible for supporting the overall functioning of the PRIDE Foster & Adoptive Parent Training Program and other Office of Learning and Professional Development (OLPD) programs, projects, and assignments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the PRIDE program through tracking of evaluations, assisting with data entry, and organization of the G-PRIDE share drive.
- Assist with statewide PRIDE quality assurance activities
- Maintain systems for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on program deliverables and outcomes.
- Submit payroll and travel documentation to Regional Manager according to Manager’s expectations and meet UIUC payroll and mileage submission requirements.
- Travel required with occasional overnight stays.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Any one or any combination of the following types of preparation:
(a) credit for college course work in or closely related to the social or behavioral sciences
(b) work experience and/or training that provided a knowledge of human behavior by having demonstrated through public contact the ability to cope with a variety of people, (such as complaint clerk, salesperson, or receptionist) that totals 1.0 unit according to the following conversion rates:
24 semester hours of "a" = 1.0 unit
24 months of "b" = 1.0 unit.
Amounts of education, experience, or training less than those listed above should be converted to decimal equivalents of 1.0 unit and added together when computing combinations of the different types of preparation.
Preferred Experience
Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking, reading and writing). Three or more years of experience as a PRIDE Trainer or Child Welfare professional with a public or private child welfare agency.
Successful candidates will also have:
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Able to work independently at home or in office
- Innovative thinking to develop new systems and strategies for effective workflow.
- Aptitude and skill level necessary for the use of independent judgment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong phone, verbal communication, active listening skills, and excellent customer service focus.
- Operate standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Proficiency in the use of a computer, including Microsoft 7 and or 10, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint software and other applications.
- Knowledge of child welfare, three or more years as a Foster or Adoptive/Guardianship Caregiver and or Child Welfare professional.
- Knowledge of child welfare, 3 or more years as a Foster or Adoptive/Guardianship Caregiver and or Child Welfare professional.
- Proficiency charting and manipulating data in Excel
Salary and Appointment Information
This is a twelve-month, 75% time Program Services Aide, Civil Service position located in Chicago, Illinois. The position is grant-funded, and renewal is contingent upon the availability of funds. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The proposed start date is as soon as possible after the closing date.
