Seasonal Snow Plow Driver
The Village of Glen Ellyn’s Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for temporary, part-time snow plow drivers to be on call for winter snow and ice control activities. Candidates with previous snow plowing experience is a plus, but not required. Training with vehicles/equipment and familiarization of plow routes will be provided upon hire. Seasonal winter positions require working non-traditional hours; ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule, and be available to work at all hours, including weekends and holidays. Seasonal winter employees typically work no more than a 12 hour shift, or a portion of a shift as needed. The general duration of these temporary positions is November 1 to April 15 (approx.). Candidates must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license; CDL a plus, but not required.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
The pay offered for this position is $18.00/hour with no fringe benefits. Note: Qualified candidates who are employed with the Village of Glen Ellyn, Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Department, Glenbard Wastewater Authority or sister agencies (e.g. local Park District, School District, or Library) are eligible for a pay rate of $22.50/hr.
